Position Details

The Department of Sport Management in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position at the Associate/Assistant Professor level starting in August 2026.

The teaching responsibilities associated with this position include an emphasis on undergraduate courses in the area of Professional Selling in Sport. The position will also teach classes in one or more of the following areas: International Sport, Senior Seminar in Sport.

Candidates are expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring student experiential learning opportunities, scholarly activity and service within the environment of an undergraduate liberal arts institution. The teaching load is twelve contact hours in a 14-week semester. A typical teaching schedule includes two sections of two different content areas. This allows for a faculty member to specialize in their areas of expertise.

At the completion of this search, The University of Tampa Sport Management Department will house nine full time faculty, including a full-time internship coordinator serving approximately four hundred majors. The program is accredited by COSMA and is located in downtown Tampa in close proximity to numerous opportunities for student volunteer and internship experiences.

Qualifications

An earned doctorate by August 2026 in Sport Management or a closely related field is required . The preferred candidate should have expertise in one or more of the following content areas: Professional Selling in Sport, International Sport, and Senior Seminar in Sport (or related). The ability to teach in other core sport management content areas is also desirable. Preferential consideration may be given to candidates with practical sport industry work experience and prior collegiate teaching experience.
