Job Insight
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical part-time grant writer to support grant reporting and compliance initiatives for a system-level office. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and data interpretation skills, experience with compliance-based reporting, and the ability to collaborate with multiple campuses and stakeholders. This role focuses on synthesizing data into clear, accurate narratives while ensuring adherence to state and federal grant guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, review, and synthesize program, enrollment, labor market, and performance data for grant reports.
- Collaborate with campus leads, faculty, workforce programs, and Institutional Reporting to gather documentation and verify data accuracy.
- Draft, edit, and format narrative sections of grant reports in compliance with federal and state guidelines.
- Prepare summaries, charts, tables, and supporting materials to explain findings, trends, and recommendations.
- Maintain tracking systems for data submissions, documentation, and reporting deadlines.
- Ensure all submitted reports meet established standards for accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.
- Communicate outstanding data needs, corrections, or follow-up requirements to stakeholders.
- Prepare internal briefing materials and presentations for leadership review.
- Support cross-campus coordination and assist with guidance or training for staff contributing to data collection.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support grant compliance and institutional initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2 3 years of professional writing experience (grant writing, reporting, technical documentation, research summaries, or academic writing).
- Experience interpreting and presenting data through tables, charts, and trend analysis.
- Familiarity with compliance-based, evidence-driven writing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with data management tools preferred.
- Knowledge of grant reporting frameworks such as Perkins V or similar state/federal compliance programs preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain documentation for audit purposes.
