Project Overview

Client is building a modern, automation-focused database administration practice with stronger configuration management. This role focuses on Oracle database administration and engineering across enterprise environments, primarily supporting Oracle databases running on IBM AIX UNIX, Oracle Exadata, and RedHat Linux platforms. The team operates in an Agile environment and supports continuous delivery at the database layer.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day administration of Oracle databases, Exadata platforms, and supporting IBM AIX UNIX servers
• Monitor Oracle database infrastructure to ensure stability, performance, and availability
• Support continuous integration and code releases at the database layer
• Improve database administration and support services through automation and tooling
• Recommend service and process improvements based on hands-on experience
• Collaborate closely with Java and .NET development teams using Oracle databases
• Serve as an Oracle subject matter expert for new initiatives and projects
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and team activities

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience administering Oracle databases on UNIX platforms (IBM AIX and/or RedHat Linux)
• Hands-on experience monitoring Oracle instances using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Experience with Oracle Data Guard and Oracle RAC
• Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and core database concepts
• Experience tuning SQL queries and optimizing overall database performance
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible
• Familiarity with containers and Oracle pluggable database architecture
• Experience working in UNIX environments (AIX and/or RHEL)
• Solid understanding of database backup and recovery tools (e.g., Cohesity, Spectrum Protect)
